Quick fixes for quicksilver.
Mercury pollution is a persistent and increasing problem in the environment. Along with some natural sources of the metal, major man-made sources of mercury pollution include incinerators, fossil fuel plants, and municipal sewage systems. The EPA estimated that in 1989, approximately 643,000 kg of mercury was discarded as municipal solid waste, with 84% of it landfilled.

Code analyzers such as ErrorProne and FindBugs detect code patterns symptomatic of bugs, performance issues, or bad style. These tools express patterns as quick fixes that detect and rewrite unwanted code patterns. However, it is hard to come up with new quick fixes and decide which ones are useful and frequently appear in real code. We propose to rely on the collective wisdom of programmers an...

متن کاملEvolving Domains, Problems and Solutions for Long Term Digital Preservation
We present, compare and contrast new directions in long term digital preservation as covered by the four large European Community funded research projects that started in 2011. The new projects widen the domain of digital preservation from the traditional purview of memory institutions preserving documents to include scenarios such as health-care, data with direct commercial value, and webbased...
